Artistry of nature in the sky --Rainbow

                  Everybody from all of us have a great curiosity about  the rainbow formation in the sky. It is a miracle which happens for a very short period during rainy season. The rainbow is a natural phenomenon which is multicolored band shape made by sunlight striking through rain water droplets. The rainbow is formed at the opposite side of the sun. The rainbow can be seen in early morning or late afternoon. Everyone get fascinated after watching a rainbow and tries to capture it in mobile phone or camera. Generally we all are familiar with seven coloured rainbow but there are different types of rainbows found across the world. Let's have a look on different types of rainbows and their speciality.

1)Full circle rainbow :- Almost all rainbows are formed in circular shape. The person who observes rainbow from earth surface can see half portion of it due to obstruction of buildings and horizon. Full circle rainbows can be seen at high altitudes as that of aeroplane,skyscraper tops.

2)Twinned rainbows:- These rainbows are rarely seen which starts at the same base and get divide into primary and secondary rainbow. Twinned rainbows are formed when the sunlight comes in contact with two different rain shower water droplets of different size.

3) Supernumery rainbow:-This type of rainbow is formed when sunlight is reflected from very tiny rain droplets of size less than 1 mm. In this type primary rainbow is covered with another coloured band creating scenic beauty in the sky

4)Monochrome rainbow:-This is special type of rainbow having only red coloured band.The shorter wavelength colours like blue, green gets scattered in dust and smoke and only longest wavelength colour like red is seen from naked eyes after rainfall during sunrise or sunset.

5)Lunar rainbow:- Lunar rainbow is also known as moon rainbow formed in moon light.These are rarely seen rainbows formed on full moon night and very much difficult to observe due to low moon light.

6)Fogbow :-Fogbows are formed when the sunlight passes through a small size cloud or foggy atmosphere. Fogbow consists of three main colours like white,red and blue.
