Flax seeds are a rich source of Protein,high Fibres and Omega 3 fatty acids. Most of the Dieticians and Nutrition experts advise to include flax seeds in our regular diet for following reasons:-

1) Effective in body weight management:-

Flax seeds have high fibre content which control our hunger and prevent us from consuming excess food. Thus it helps in maintaining our body weight within limit.

2) Effective in blood sugar level management:-

Most of the diabetic patients are advised to include flax seed in their diet as it has insoluble fibres which helps in controlling blood sugar level. Flax seeds can be consumed in oil form or smashed powder after meal.

Flax seeds can be consumed by anyone who is suffering due to high cholesterol levels. It has  high fibre content and Omega 3 fatty acids which reduce bad (LDL) cholesterol and improves good (HDL)cholesterol.

Flax seeds contain vitamin E which improves scalp health and results in good hair growth. It reduce hair fall, dandruff problems and is beneficial for hair nourishment.

Flax seeds has antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties which prevents skin diseases, helps in faster wound healing, nourish our skin. 

How to consume Flax seeds

There are various ways to consume Flax seeds in our daily diet plan. We can use flax seeds oil,flax seed paste in breakfast items, mix it in salads,pastas and yoghurt. It can be also consumed in powder form in our regular meals.

Precautions while taking Flax seeds

Flax seeds are generally safe for consumption by most people. But one should take precaution who is taking treatment of low blood pressure, low blood sugar level, constipation, diarrhoea, hormonal issues and the bleeding problems.It should be avoided by pregnant and breastfeeding women and people allergic to flax seeds.
